OnePlus 10 Pro: The New Flagship Smartphone

OnePlus 10 Pro: The New Flagship Smartphone

OnePlus has refined its notion of a true flagship phone to compete with the big names this year, and the result is a sophisticated, stylish gadget. It's not simply a less expensive flagship; it's a genuine competitor to Samsung and Google with its personality.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is now available in the United States. While many may say that co-founder Carl Pei, who departed the company in late 2020, was the soul of OnePlus, OnePlus devices are still a hot topic, especially following their exciting alliance with photographic lover Hasselblad.

But how would OnePlus's new strategy influence its next flagship phone? The Oppo takeover appears to be changing a lot of things. While both firms have always been technically comparable organizations under the umbrella of BBK Electronics, things will never be the same for Unlocked OnePlus Phones or its many ardent followers.

OnePlus 10 Pro Optimizes Fingerprint Unlocking and Power Consumption

OnePlus has released the latest OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series. The OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series software update enhanced battery performance and corrected the power consumption issue. The OnePlus 10 Pro is the latest smartphone to receive fresh software updates. The OnePlus 10 Pro has received a software update that improves the fingerprint algorithm, and audio processing.

In addition, the update improves battery usage. It also fixes an issue that prohibited the phone from automatically turning on at a predetermined time. Finally, the update improves the camera quality and stability of the front 32MP selfie camera.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Price

The days of the ultra-affordable OnePlus flagship phones are clearly over. If none of the latest OnePlus Unlocked phones has persuaded you, the OnePlus 10 Pro will almost certainly do so. Still, at an introductory price of $899, it's more reasonable than the iPhone Pro Maxes and Galaxies.

The 128GB edition of the OnePlus 10 Pro starts at $899. Notably, the phone does not come in a 256GB version, which is available in other parts of the world, and it also lacks mmWave 5G.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Design

OnePlus has progressively improved its design chops in recent years, but the OnePlus 10 Pro outperforms even the OnePlus 9 Pro. The Volcanic Black model came with a soft-touch material on the back, which I appreciated. One of the best aspects of the phone is now fingerprint resistant, something that its predecessor lacked.

You've probably noticed the new camera module design, which Samsung clearly inspires. Like the Galaxy S22's contour cut, the entire array flows smoothly into the frame. The OnePlus 10 Pro's camera module is made of ceramic and is both robust and attractive, even if it reminds me of a cooktop when I look at it.

The alert slider, which has been present on OnePlus phones since the OnePlus 2, is still functional and useful. Although iPhones have a physical switch identical to this, I have yet to see an Android phone with the slider. It's fantastic for making the OnePlus 10 Pro vibrate or completely silence it. I like it, and I like that OnePlus has maintained it - it demonstrates that the company's former design language is still alive and well.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is a pleasure to hold in general. It's surprisingly light in my palm, weighing only 7 ounces. I don't have to stretch my thumb too far to reach areas of the screen because it's 3 inches wide.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is narrower and heavier than the OnePlus 10 Pro. As a result, OnePlus created the Oneplus Best Buy phone that is quite comfortable to carry, despite its size.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Display

It's a huge and immersive AMOLED panel at 6.7 inches with a QHD resolution. The OnePlus 10 Pro also employs second-generation LTPO technology, which allows the display to intelligently scale its refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz based on the information displayed on the screen. You may also choose between FHD+ and QHD+ resolutions, with the former requiring less power.

In comparison to the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus reduced the Vivid color saturation this year but preserved the Natural profile. The OnePlus 10 Pro doesn't reproduce as much of the sRGB or DCI-P3 color gamut’s as the Galaxy S22 Ultra's Natural option. The OnePlus 10 Pro scored slightly lower than its predecessor in terms of Delta-E color accuracy (where 0 is perfect) but slightly higher than the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Cameras

This year, cameras are the most important feature, and the OnePlus delivered. In short, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the company's best photography phone to date. The phone's 48MP main camera produces photographs that are nearly as good as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Pixel 6 Pro, and iPhone 13, Pro Max. The 50MP ultrawide camera has a field of vision of 150 degrees, or 100 degrees, with minimal edge distortion.

OnePlus has a number of software tricks on its sleeve as well. The main camera has a 10-bit color capability (which saves in the HDIF format). The new RAW+ mode combines the freedom of RAW photos with some of OnePlus' software innovations, including improved dynamic range in the revised Pro mode. Master Styles, OnePlus' response to Apple's Photographic Styles, is actually new this year. These are essentially filter and color styles that you may use on the fly.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Performance

With the OnePlus 10 Pro, you get one of the fastest Android smartphones to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 system-on-chip. It's difficult to find anything that slows it down with 8GB of RAM. This gadget offers one of the best price-to-performance Android handsets at $899.

In CPU-intensive tasks such as Geekbench and the Adobe Premiere Rush 4K-1080p transcoding tests, the OnePlus 10 Pro trails the Galaxy S22 Ultra. In contrast, the OnePlus 10 Pro, outperformed Samsung in gaming benchmarks thanks to a novel cooling system that keeps the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 cooler. As a result, the phone won't have to throttle the processor as much, resulting in increased performance.

OnePlus 10 Pro: Battery life and charging

Long gaming sessions and YouTube and Plex viewing were all handled admirably by the phone. The OnePlus 10 Pro will last a long time when used for more everyday tasks like web browsing and social media. OnePlus Refurbished phones have traditionally been at the forefront of what's possible with charging technology. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro in the United States has a slower charging speed than the Chinese version. With the OnePlus 10 Pro, you get a charging brick that supports 65W charging and 50W wireless charging in the US; the UK and EU versions will enable 80W charging.

OnePlus 10 Pro: The Final Thoughts

This phone is great in every way, from benchmarks to cameras. And, at $899, it could be the most significant Android phone for the money.

Also, you can purchase OnePlus Refurbished Phones unless we get a base OnePlus 10 as rumored. The OnePlus 9 Pro began to reverse the company's reputation for poor camera quality, and the 10 Pro builds on that.

The Hasselblad relationship appears to be paying off. This phone does almost everything right: cameras, battery life, and display. This year, OnePlus performed even better than last year.
