Description
  • The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion 5G (model XT2429) is a stylish and well-equipped mid-range smartphone that strikes a great balance between performance, design, and value. Announced in April 2024, it offers several premium features typically found in higher-end devices, making it a strong contender in its category.

    Design & Display

The Edge 50 Fusion features a large 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and an immersive viewing experience. It supports 10-bit color depth and reaches a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits, making it bright and vivid even in direct sunlight. The device is available in elegant finishes including vegan leather and plastic backs, and its IP68 water and dust resistance rating adds durability to its sleek and lightweight build.

    Performance & Software

Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal UFS 2.2 storage. This setup delivers reliable everyday performance, suitable for multitasking, media, and casual gaming, though it may show some slowdowns during heavier workloads.

The device runs on Android 14 with Motorola's Hello UI, offering a near-stock experience with thoughtful customizations. Motorola has promised 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches, giving users long-term support.

    Camera System

The Edge 50 Fusion includes a capable triple-camera system: a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front camera. The primary camera captures sharp, well-balanced images, while the ultrawide lens allows for creative wide-angle shots. The front-facing camera delivers clear and detailed selfies, making it ideal for social media and video calls.

    Battery Life & Charging

Equipped with a 5000mAh battery, the phone easily lasts through a full day of moderate to heavy use. It supports 68W TurboPower fast charging, which allows for quick top-ups when needed, reducing downtime significantly.

    Audio and Additional Features

The phone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, offering rich and immersive audio for movies, games, and music. Other notable features include an under-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, and a curved edge display that supports interactive edge lighting and quick actions.

    Conclusion

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion 5G (XT2429) delivers an impressive package for its price. With a high-quality display, solid performance, premium design, capable cameras, and long battery life, it stands out as one of the best-value smartphones in the mid-range segment. It’s a great choice for users looking for a modern, well-rounded Android device without the flagship price tag.

Ask a Question

Why are Unlocked phones better than Locked phones?

Whenever you are in the market to purchase a phone, you have a choice: do you buy an unlocked phone or a locked phone?

The answer is simple: Always go with an unlocked phone. Unlocked phones are better for several reasons:

  1. They are usually less expensive than a locked phone. Locked phones are typically sold by carriers (i.e. AT&T, Verizon etc) and they sell them for significantly more than what you'll find at Wireless Place.

  2. Unlocked phones can be used on almost any carrier anywhere in the world. You can take your phone with you when you travel abroad and just insert your SIM card into your unlocked phone. Begin using your phone via text, calls, data.

  3. Flexibility to switch carriers. If you find out that a phone carrier is going to give you a better price than the current carrier you're using, go ahead and switch. Simply insert the new SIM card into your unlocked phone and begin using it.
