If you've been waiting for a Samsung phone that covers the basics at a price that won't give you nightmares, the new Galaxy A12 could fit the bill.

The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a V-shaped notch in the middle, a quad 48/5/2/2-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The Galaxy A12 also includes a 5,000mAh battery. The predecessor of this phone, the Galaxy A11 only had a triple rear camera and a 4,000mAh battery, so this is a pretty significant improvement.

Another upgrade or additions to the Galaxy A12, are the variations, the 32GB is equipped with 3GB RAM, the 64GB with 4GB RAM and finally the 128GB is equipped with 6GB RAM.

The Galaxy A12 camera has been upgraded too, out goes the i shaped previous camera set and in comes the quad camera set that sit 2X2, which gives it a fresher look. Another part of the major upgrade is that the main camera has gone form a 13MP lens to a whooping 48MP main lens, 5MP Ultrawide, a 2MP Depth and a 2MP Macro lens. Adding a flash just below the lenses completes the camera set, which should give much better and improved picture quality compared to its predecessor. The selfie camera has also been upgraded to an 8MP too.

The Galaxy A12 has a plastic exterior, Glass front and a plastic frame, which seems to be the standard for this category phones.

One other major and noticeable upgrade is the battery on the Galaxy A12. The 5000mAh battery on this device, which is only matched by the new Motorola Moto G8 Power, and that is another sign that Samsung have taken this model very seriously with the upgrades to try and entice consumers who would be looking elsewhere for a phone with this kind of power and spec, without breaking their budget.

Other spec of the Galaxy A12 consists of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated slot for MicroSD slot to increase phone’s memory to name a few. And the phone runs on Android 10 which will be eligible for an upgrade to Android 11, and a 15W fast charger too.
